Project description
ADAC Westphalia invested over 15 million euros in its new home, located directly on the B1 road in the Stadtkrone Ost estate in Dortmund. An attractive structural calling card was created, combining all the service divisions and the administration of the largest German automobile club under one roof. Travel agency, members' service office, testing facility and a shop are all enclosed in a large, light-filled service hall. The various service areas of the club are arranged along the galleries enclosing all four storeys.
General building information
The new ADAC building on Freie-Vogel-Strasse does not just have an ideal location, it is also a very imposing building. And that is not just the case during the day, but also at night, when the impressive architecture is illuminated effectively by countless spotlights.
In May 2004, around 100 employees of the ADAC moved into the new building made of steel, glass and concrete, when the building, designed by the Dortmund architect Kai Stege, was completed after a construction period of around 20 months.
Why did the customer choose OBO products?
OBO BETTERMANN equipped the building with over 500 device installation units of type GE 12R. These installation units were equipped with sockets and telephone connection sockets. In addition, there were special designs in the form of data connection sockets with eight RJ 45 connections per socket.
